Health Benefits of Mango for Skin


Mango is a good source of beta carotene, a nutrient that is converted by the body into vitamin A. Being rich in vitamin A, it will give you a clearer skin by relieving clogged pores on your skin.

Mangoes are also high in vitamin B, calcium, iron, and pythochemicals like astragalin and quercetin. The phenolic compounds, such as quercetin and astragalin, have been shown to have antioxidant and anticancer properties.

"In addition to prevent cancer, phenol in the mango may also help in promoting healthy skin and hair. Vitamin B-complex help strengthens the hair and magniferin beautify the skin," dermatologist Dr Satish Bhatia said.

Mango is low in fat and high in fiber, including vitamin A which are very beneficial for the skin; preventing clogged pores, overcoming acne, as well as smoothing the elbows, arms and knees.

Eating mango on a regular basis will make skin tones look smoother and brighter. Mangoes also contain vitamin C that helps the formation of collagen, which makes the skin healthier.
