Monitors brightness level can effect our eye health and the comfortable of working in front of computer. Previously I had written about using the 20-20-20 rule when working with computers. This time I will talk about free software that can be used to automatically adjust the brightness of the monitor.
In the daytime, with a brightness level of an existing monitor (standard) usually are already suited to the conditions in the room. But what if we work at a computer in the evening, early morning or midnight? Sometimes does not fit the monitor brightness, so that besides the effect of eye health, eye fatigue, also affect electricity usage (especially on laptops).
For these reasons, we could manually adjust the brightness of the monitor us, but if this continues to be repeated every day, of course quite cumbersome. Therefore, they invented a software F.lux. F.lux is free software that automatically adjusts the brightness level monitor, good for LCD monitors, laptop or a regular monitor (CRT). Usually in the daytime it looks increasingly bright and decreased in the evening, until night. In the morning brightness may be raised.
This setting is adjusted by inserting the coordinates of our territory. So the accuracy will be more secure. If we are less suited to the default settings, we can also reset the brightness level based on hours or time in our territory.
This software is available in a variety of platforms, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Download size for windows only about 546 KB so very small. For those of you who are interested visit the F.lux download page.
